How to take care of Asiaticus Orange

Suitable for rock gardens, borders and containers. Soak the tubers overnight in warm water. Plant in well-drained prepared slightly acid soil (add sand and organic matter for drainage) in a sunny sheltered spot with the claws pointing down.

Always water well after planting to stimulate growth. They grow best when the soil around the crown is dry but the roots are kept moist. Remove the faded flower heads as they appear as this helps to promote new growth.

At the end of the summer the leaves will yellow and die back as the plant slips into dormancy. Foliage many be removed at this point. Your ranunculus will rest for a few months before beginning the next growing cycle.

Please note to survive harsh winters apply a mulch (straw or newspaper) over them to avoid any frost damage. Remove when all danger of frost has passed. Hardy zones 7-10.
