Growing Incarvillea delavayi

Incarvillea delavayi is a lovely tuberous plant with gloxinia like flowers in white or deep pink. Plant the root stock during April - May in well prepared soil (about a spade deep) in a sunny position. Loosen soil enriched with some potting compost. Plant the tuber upright such that the thinner elongated neck of the plant is just beneath the surface. Give some organic fertiliser as a top dressing. Take away the seed pods after flowering and dig the tuber out of the garden by end of October and store dry and cool. Replant in April - May

You can plant the Incarvillea delavayi also in a large planter for patio use. Take care that the planter is deep enough to give the tuber sufficient planting depth.
