The beauty of these Allium ‘Mount Everest’ bulbs, is their ability to produce spectacular displays on sturdy yet delicate stems. Generally Alliums bloom in shades of purple and lavender blue, but this unusual variety will create that appealing contrast. Flowering in early summer they have amazing large and attractive white globular heads lasting for approx 3 weeks. The effect is stylish and elegant when coupled with any of our other varieties of Alliums or plant them in groups of three or more bulbs for the best effect. They are deer and rodent resistant!

How to take care of Allium Mount Everest

As a general rule –Plant Allium Mount Everest in good light well-drained soil at a depth of 3 times the height of the bulb. Large flowering Alliums prefer full sun, but all other Alliums will tolerate partial shade.

Allium Mount Everest dislike been disturbed, so leave Allium Mount Everest for few years untouched. Divide clumps in autumn every 3-4 years of so. You can improve heavy soil by mixing in some builders sand.

Place Allium Mount Everest bulbs with the 'nose' upward into the soil. Always water well after planting to stimulate growth. For best results, as the buds materialize, add a high potash liquid feed in early spring to fertilize.

Allow foliage to die back naturally as this will send nutrients to Allium Mount Everest bulbs for next year’s bloom. Please note to survive harsh winters apply a mulch (straw or newspaper) over them to avoid any frost damage.

Remove when all danger of frost has passed.
