Grow Big Dahlias
Remove the top section of a young dahlia stem,it will soon develop side shoots and become a beautiful bushy plant, covering the area of two plants with a single tuber!
Double the Color
By planting more than 1 layer of bulbs in a large planter or the border for that matter, you can create a colorful long lasting effect. For example: plant daffodils at 8" and plant on top of them at a depth of 4", crocus bulbs. The crocus will bloom first followed by the daffodils on the same spot.
Plant early flowering varieties in the centre of the container and later flowering varieties around the outside of the planter or container. So by the time the early flowering varietes are dying off the later flowering ones will hide the dying foliage of the others. So you can have a blast of color all summer long.
